Phoenix Consulting is a general psychology practice operating in Darwin, Australia. As well as dealing with general psychological issues (such as anxiety, depression, relationships) we have some specific interests and expertise that are outlined on the Consultancy page. The Myth of the Phoenix
There was only ever one phoenix at any time. At the end of its life it builds a fire, is burnt to ashes and rises from the ashes to begin a new life. The myth has long been a metaphor of recovery and renewal. For us the myth represents the individuality of people, as well as the capacity to move forward after facing adversity. Being based in Darwin, our logo also alludes to the tropical environment. At the end of the dry season, fires are lit to clean and rejuvenate the land. When the dry grass is alight kites and other birds hover overhead watching for small animals fleeing the fire. This represents the potential for opportunity in adversity.
